My Favorite Movies

Kung Fu Hustle

One of my all-time favorites movies... hilarious to describe it in one word. Directed by himself, actor, Stephen Chow has made it again after the hit "Shaolin Soccer". Watch it with your friends and family and you'll sure like it.

the gladiator

Maximus is a powerful Roman general, loved by the people and the aging Emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Before his death, the Emperor chooses Maximus to be his heir over his own son, Commodus, and a power struggle leaves Maximus and his family condemned to death. The powerful general is unable to save his family, and his loss of will allows him to get captured and put into the Gladiator games until he dies. The only desire that fuels him now is the chance to rise to the top so that he will be able to look into the eyes of the man who will feel his revenge.

The Sweetest Thing
Sexy and bold Christina Walters (Cameron Diaz), after years of avoiding meaningful relationships with men, unexpectedly meets her perfect match (Thomas Jane) one night while hanging out with best girlfriends Courtney (Christina Applegate) and Jane (Selma Blair). When she finds out the next morning that he's suddenly left town, she and Courtney set out to find him on a wild road trip, encountering a series of hilarious misadventures on their journey. Their search ultimately leads them to a surprising discovery and the realization that love is, after all, the sweetest thing.

the american pie

In this J.B. Rogers-directed sequel to Paul Weitz's 1999 teen comedy American Pie, the barely post-adolescent group of horny kids from the first film reunite one year later for summer vacation after completing their first year of college.

catch me if you can

An FBI agent tracks down and catches a young con artist who successfully impersonated an airline pilot, doctor, assistant attorney general and history professor, cashing more than $2.5 million in fraudulent checks in 26 countries.

Sweet November
Nelson (Keanu Reeves) is a man devoted to his advertising career in San Francisco. One day, while taking a driving test at the DMV, he meets Sara (Charlize Theron). She is very different from the other women in his life. Nelson causes her to miss out on taking the test and later that day she tracks him down. One thing leads to another and Nelson ends up living with her through a November that will change his life forever.

The Notebook
As a man (Garner) reads from a faded notebook to the woman (Rowlands) he regularly visits, his words bring to life the story of a couple (Gosling and McAdams) who are separated by World War II, then passionately reunited 7 years later, after they have taken different paths. Though her memory has faded, his words give her the chance to relive her turbulent youth and the unforgettable love they shared.

Anna and The King
The story of the romance between the King of Siam and the widowed British schoolteacher Anna Leonowens during the 1860's to teach the children of King Mongkut. She becomes involved in his affairs, from the tragic plight of a young concubine to trying to forge an alliance with Britain to a war with Burma that is orchestrated by Britain. In the meantime, a subtle romance develops between them.

Chicago
It's the long-awaited film version of the Broadway hit. Set in the roaring 20's, this is the story of Chicago chorus girl Roxie Hart (Zellweger), who shoots her unfaithful lover (West). Landing in jail, she meets Velma Kelly (Zeta-Jones), another chorus girl and murderess, currently enjoying media attention and legal manipulation, care of her attorney, Billy Flynn (Gere), king of the old "Razzle Dazzle." Soon enough, however, Flynn takes Roxie's case as well, and Velma finds herself old news as Roxie is now the most famous murderess in town, on her way to getting out of jail and becoming a star. The two go through a series of attempts at getting what they both want (often conflicting): freedom and fame.

My Sassy Girl
The connotation you might get from hearing the word "My Sassy Girl" is just a chick flick korean teenage movie, right? Well, it's not... In my opinion, this movie deserves an applause for its semi-kind of originality, unpredictable and enjoyable scenes. Cinematography wise, this movie is unlike most of the western movies which focused on artistic values, this movie has just a bit of it. Looking at the story itself, it is very touching and you will be curious on what will be the ending of the story.

So here goes my ten favorite movies to share you with. Although I still got heaps to share, I will leave you guys with this first ten flicks at the moment and soon, I'll be posting more. Enjoy your day!
