Christmas Gift Ideas

The Cybershot DSC-P71 Digital Camera

The Cybershot DSC-P71 takes all the technology and ingenuity that made its predecessors great and adds to that an even more impressive zoom and the great-looking, compact design that makes the Sony Cybershot family the choice of savvy photo enthusiasts all over the world. Clip Motion Mode captures up to ten 160x120 or two 80x72 frames and creates a GIF animation. Low light is no match for the DSC-P71. Neither is motion. The DSC-P71 takes it all on and delivers the most stunning digital images you've ever seen, hands down. Let the digital fun begin! Hmm... sure it's one Christmas treat!

Ipod Nano

When Apple released the iPod, they created the standard for
portable digital music players. Following the tradition of iPod, they raised
the bar even higher. So how do I describe iPod Nano? Love at first sight!
It’s stylish, sleek, super slim, new click wheel, with games, and jet black
casing, no wonder Steve Jobs wasn’t kidding… it’s really the next big thing!
If only I could swipe it I would, too bad I forgot I don’t have any credit card.
One more thing, it fits well in pockets- even the tightest jeans won’t show
any embarrassing bulges. But for every love at first sight, there’s also
getting-to-know part, right? So I’ll give
you some of its boasting key features:

Dimensions: 3.5” tall, 1.6 “wide, 0.25” wide.. imagine that!!! Innovative click wheels for easy navigation
Rich sound
15 hours of continuous playback
skip free protected
colored LCD
super portable
automatically synchronizes music, playlists, and audiobooks with Mac or Pc
now works with Outlook too

Sounds like an ideal date, huh? Although it’s almost perfect when it comes with the style and performance, the iPod nano flawed on the part where you can’t swap a new pack of battery in case it runs out. Yes dear, you just have to recharge it. It doesn’t come up with spare battery because Apple wants it seamless perfect. And watch out for your fingerprints too after you peel off the plastic skin of your new baby, it’ll be a bit smudgy but just a wipe with your shirt will be alright. And back to being flashy again.

Sony PSP or Nintendo Gameboy DS?

Both systems are wireless and features potential connectivity with various devices, and at E3 neither the Nintendo DS or PSP managed to outshine each other in this department. Price, too…neither Nintendo nor Sony were willing to show their hands here, but obviously the less expensive they are, the better it is for us. And in all honesty, looking at both systems, Nintendo will have the edge with a much more affordable and aggressive pricepoint

Based on the attention and web news frency, last weeks top news was clearly the announcement of the Nintendo DS portable Game Console. Not much is known so far, but from what we can imply it would be surprising if it would be competing with the pre-announced Sony PSP. The Sony PSP is attractive to a new group of demographic that the Nintendo Gameboy is not reaching - 20 to 35 year olds. To be attractive to that target group the portable game console needs to be small, cool clean design, high performance and of course good games. The Two screens of the Nintendo implies a bulky device, unless they have a very smart design. It was said on the interview that the screens are vertically arranged. My son just loved PSP, his classmates got both Nintendo Gameboy DS and PSP. I put my bet on PSP... how about you?

Friends -- The Complete First Seven Seasons

Adored. That how you'll feel if you give this as a Christmas present to your love one. Not mentioning how much it's worth... you will surely rock!

PIONEER DVR-310-S

Pioneer was responsible for one of the first DVD-RW recorders. But since that impressive early start, the company has ignored digital recording elsewhere, while being one of the major players in Japan. Now it's back - and this newbie is the cheapest of a fresh brace of decks.

It looks like an all-new design too, with an unusual off-center disc drawer and quirky styling like we like. Build quality is decent, instant recording is also only a single button-press away, and the Easy Time Recording is just as easy.

Cheap it may be, but this model has most of the key features that we'd want in a DVD recorder. For recordings you want to share, the 3100 also records onto the more compatible DVD-R format. Whatever you choose, copies are first-class --- especiallly at the higher bit rates. Movies sound great-dialogue is particularly natural- and the performance with CDs and music will pass muster with most casual listeners. Still, this is an impressive recorder in a smart package from a big name looking to reassert itself in the digital recorder world.

KEY FEATURES:

  • Records onto DVD-R/RW
  • Plays DVD-R/RW, DVD Video, VCD, WMA/MP3/JPEG DC-R/RW
  • Supports DTS, Dolby DigitalDimensions: 420 x 69 x 341mmWeight: 4.3 kg
  • fine (60 minutes), SP (120 mins), LP (240 mins), EP (360 mins) recording modes

If Santa would be generous enough...

I am about to pop my Martini cork with excitement over these very cool stuff!

Hi michiemichiemichie,

I am a writer and I research gift ideas for e-books on original gift ideas for Christmas and other events like Valentine's, Easter etc. I also organize gift ideas per receiver, like for babies, for kids, for teens, for grandparents, for dog lovers, for him, for her, etc Or I organize them by category like romantic gifts and inexpensive gifts. In my research I also go through blogs that mention gifts and gift ideas or events like Christmas. That is how I came upon your blog Christmas Gift Ideas. I would appreciate if you would share just one successful gift idea with me, for instance a Christmas gift for a dad. I hope that my question doesn't annoy you. And I apologize if it does. I thought if I'd just ask enough people I'd wind up with plenty of good ideas to share with others again. That is what networking is all about, right? Or let's call it the spirit of Christmas. Let me know if I can do something for you. You can find my free e-books with gift ideas here: http://www.100mostoriginalgiftideas.com. God bless.
